Bonsai World 2011 – Show Update

The Sussex Bonsai Group are pleased to share the progress that we are making on the forthcoming Bonsai World 2011 event at the K2 in Crawley on 3rd and 4th September.  We are confident that this will bring together the Bonsai community across the UK in an exceptional show.   A weekend programme is being produced and will be available to download from the website next month.

Currently there are more than 14 traders and 31 exhibitors confirmed including some of the best trees from societies and individuals.  There will be demonstrations from Marc Noelanders, John Armitage, Ken Norman and Ramon Hammers.   All demonstrations are included in the £5 per day entry fee.

Workshop places are still available with Marc and John on either Saturday or Sunday at extra cost.  Please see our website at for costs and details of how to book.

The show will also include a number Japanese and cultural activities. We are delighted to welcome various Japanese Clubs and Societies, who are putting on several displays during the weekend, which include a traditional Japanese Tea Ceremony, an illustrated talk on The History of Japanese Gardens, Ikebana (Japanese flower arranging) by the Surrey Sogetsu Group, who will be displaying, plus demonstrations and ‘have a go’, together with Chinese Brush Painting by Jane Dwight.

Displays from Seishin-Iaido, the art of drawing and using a Japanese Samurai sword, will take place on both days, together with Aikido demonstrations from Mushin Juku Dojo.

We look forward to welcoming you to this event.

Thanks goes to our main sponsor Kaizen Bonsai and to the Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation for their grant towards our National Show.
