Sussex Bonsai Group

As a Club, we are passionate about promoting and widening the awareness of bonsai to as many people as possible.

We hope that these shows bring together the Bonsai and Japanese communities to share and enjoy our events.  We have been overwhelmed by the passion from societies, individuals, traders and demonstrators to participate and help make our show such a success.

Sussex Bonsai Group was founded in August 1979 by a small group of enthusiasts interested in the art and culture of Bonsai. The aim of the Club is to promote the awareness, the understanding and skill associated with Bonsai. The Club is a non-profit making organisation with all expenses found from within the membership. The Group meets on the 4th Wednesday of each month at the Wivelsfield Village Hall, West Sussex and full list of club meetings for 2016 can be found on the 2017 Programme link.

The Club is one of the founder members of the Federation of British Bonsai Societies, which is the National body that promotes the art of Bonsai in the UK and was formed in 1982.  In the past, the Group has organised a highly successful National Bonsai Convention and Exhibition at the University of Sussex in 1992.
